About Us
Joy Riders Pgh was founded by Margarita Halasowski of O'Hara Township and Dianne Stuckman, of Ben Avon. Joy Riders Pgh began operating in Millvale during the summer of 2021.
Since 2021, we've provided rides (which are always free) to individuals ranging in age from 11 to 108 years old. We currently have 20 trained volunteers who help "pilot" the bikes and ride ahead on their own bicycles to insure safety on the trail. We can ride children and adults from 50 pounds to 240.
Joy Riders Pgh rides start on the Millvale Riverfront and follow the Three Rivers Heritage Trail to the North Shore and back, turning around at Acrisure Stadium. Some beautiful sights along the way include the Pittsburgh cityscape, rivers, the Mr. Rogers statue, and the stadiums.
At the Pittsburgh location, Three Rivers Rowing provides free storage for the bike. All of our volunteers have required background clearances.
Joy Riders first began in Rostraver, PA (see Rostraver Joy Riders here) along the Great Allegheny Passage, and there is a third location in Greensburg, PA. Joy Riders is fully insured and sponsored by the Veterans Leadership Program.
